That little tail rotor is what keeps a traditional helicopter stable, but it also creates noise, vulnerability, and potential hazards. The MD 520N eliminates this with its innovative NOTAR® system — short for “No Tail Rotor.” Instead of a spinning blade, a carefully engineered stream of air is channeled through the tail boom to keep the aircraft stable, balanced, and precisely controllable at every phase of flight.
